Timberline Guitars was started by Rob Smith under the simple premise of making high quality, hand-made solid timber guitars for prices below where guitars of this quality had ever been sold before.

Kevin Hall subsequently joined Timerline in the technical capacity of "Bush–Dwelling Guitar Hermit". Smith runs the business side from Southern California; Hall designs, tweaks, invents, refines, improves and generally creates guitar magic from his home base outside Toronto, Canada. With a goal of producing the world’s finest hand-finished fretted instruments at their respective price points, Timberline pays close attention to modern techniques and production processeswhile paying respectful homage to the great guitar designs of the past.

Kevin Halls' history with C.F. Martin and Co (Martin Guitars), and as independent product consultant / warranty agent for Guild,Yamaha and Washburn has afforded him over 35 years of lutherie and repair experience with legendary guitar manufacturing companies. The application of his expertise to Timberline® Guitars elevates our mid-priced instruments to the top ranks of hand made solid timber guitars of any class.
